Become a junior Coach

Junior Coaches are needed to inspire the next generation! Our Junior Coach program is for high school girls aged 16 to 18. Beyond serving as a role model to program participants, Junior Coaches work alongside Coaches, strengthening their leadership skills and gaining a sense of belonging and purpose.

5K Volunteers

Our end of season 5K provides a tangible sense of accomplishment to participants. To celebrate and make the experience one to remember, there are many opportunities to get involved.

  • Registration
  • Parking Attendents
  • Activity Stations
  • Happy Hair Stations
  • 5K Buddy opportunities, where we invite friends to run/walk/roll alongside participants.
  • Course set up and take down
  • Cheer Stations
  • Finish line refreshments

Team Helper or Junior Helper

Each team requires a minimum of two certified trained coaches to be present at each practice. Want to volunteer but not able to commit to being trained as a GOTR Coach and leading a full season? Team Helpers (age 18+) and Junior Helpers (ages 16-17) help coaches manage larger teams.

Group Opportunities

Are you part of a group or organization that wants to make an impact on our community? Girls on the Run would love to have you get involved with our program. Here are few ways you can make a difference while working together.

  • Support with seasonal volunteer opportunities such as packing or unpacking supply packs or sorting inventory for a few hours.
  • Volunteer together at a Girls on the Run 5K event – from set up and tear down to cheer teams and water stations – there are numerous ways for you to help bring this joyful end of season celebration to life!

General Interest

Looking for a different type of commitment? We seek volunteers who can offer their time and expertise to support on a project-by-project basis. If you are interested in offering any amount of time, we can find a place for you.
